I am already 40 years old.
So you can imagine I’ve been through various hard life lessons.
One of the hardest truths we must accept as adults is this:
You cannot always rely on other people.
Yes – people will help you once.
Maybe even twice if you’re lucky.
But over time, that help becomes a debt that gets mentioned again and again.
“Kalau bukan aku yang tolong kau dulu, kau takkan sampai sini.”
I’ve seen it happen.
Maybe you have too.
And the worst part?
Even if we ourselves are the kind who help others without expecting anything in return…
It doesn’t mean others will do the same for us.
That’s just human nature.
It’s not evil. It’s not wrong.
It’s simply how it is.
Which is why – building your own resilience is not just a smart thing to do.
It is a bermaruah thing to do.
(Bermaruah means dignified in Malay)
When you choose to set aside something solid, like physical gold…
When you quietly, consistently build a small fortress for yourself…
You are doing more than just protecting your money.
You are protecting your dignity.
You are protecting your ability to say,
“Thank you, but I’m okay. I can manage.”
And that is a kind of wealth no one can take away from you.
Because the day will come –
when the economy shifts,
when the job market trembles,
when debts come knocking…
And you will be grateful you did not build your security on the kindness of others, but on the quiet strength you built for yourself.
We help people because it’s good.
But we protect ourselves because it’s wise.
And wisdom, at the end of the day,
is what keeps us standing with dignity – even when the world shakes.

Pictured is part of our gold savings for Hajj – insya-Allah. (God-willing).
